Two escape injury as plane crash lands
Two people have escaped injury when their light plane crash-landed at an airport in the Northern Territory.
It’s believed the landing gear failed to engage and the single-engine aircraft, with two men on board, crash-landed at Gapuwiyak Airport in Arnhem Land about 4pm (CST), NT Police said.
The plane landed on the airstrip, ran off the runway and struck a boundary fence.
The Civil Aviation Safety Authority and Australian Search and Rescue were notified.
Engineers will fly to the airstrip on Tuesday to inspect the plane.
